Woohoo, Germany!!!

I am officially in Germany and headed home to Austin! By this time tomorrow, I shall be showered, wearing civilian clothes, and not thinking about the Army. I'm psyched. The past few days have been interesting and I definitely got an hour of sleep in a 48 hour period, but it's worth it. I can't wait to be home!! We got off the plane here in Germany and it was cold and raining... I haven't seen rain in almost 6 months! If it hadn't been so cold and I hadn't been in uniform, I would have danced in the rain just to celebrate it. And, if I forgot to mention it, I'M COMING HOME!!!

Freudian Slip?

My call sign is "Ghostrider 26". Now, my guys have found ways to alter my call sign as a joke. Like "Smurfette 26" after the blue gatorade incident. "Princess 26" because they say I'm a dictator but I'm too small to be a queen. So I'm not unused to the altered call sign. I was, however, incredibly surprised to hear "Ghostrider 2-sexy". Now, immediately after that his peers got on the net and started making fun of him and he swears he didn't actually say it, but it was definitely amusing. The other NCOs have made fun of him mercilessly so I haven't had to do anything about it; peer pressure and harassment have done a better job than anything I could have done to remedy the situation.

I've been busy getting things set up for my time at home (it's coming up soon!!) and dealing with soldier issues. Like I've said in the past, things are dull interspersed with times of insanity and craziness. They're making us move rooms around, so I have to pack everything up and move a few days before flying home. I'm actually kind of excited about the move: I'll be 10 ft from the bathroom and all of my friends (fellow officers) will be living near me! That means I'll have dinner buddies and gym partners and friends to watch movies with... it shall be wonderful.

I need to be heading to bed; another busy day tomorrow. Thank you all for the Koo-isms; I knew I could count on you! Love you all!!

I Need Your Wit...

Alright, so there's a guy here by the name of CPT Koo that I supposedly work with to coordinate for missions. Unfortunately, he doesn't really do a whole lot of... well anything. So, in my update to the battalion XO I have an update that I include Koo on the CC and then I have an update where I don't include him. For the second email, I have begun a running gag of including "Koo" in the title, but I need your wit to help me continue this joke. Here are some of the titles I have used thus far to give you some ideas:
  • The Anti-Koo Update
  • Koo Confidential
  • Crash Bandi-"Koo"t
  • All up in the "Koo"l Aid
  • Just a little "Koo" "Koo"
  • Ridi"koo"lous
  • "Koo"l Whip
  • I am the Walrus, "Koo" "Koo" k'joob (my personal favorite)
So, any thoughts? I have quite the witty bunch of family and friends, so I know you will all think of some humorous titles. I'm trying to see how long I can continue this joke without repeating titles; an epic task, I know.

I am so excited for leave. Words truly cannot describe how happy I am to be coming home. Liann, I am totally coming to Houston to see both of your plays and have some Harry Potter watching. Sandra, I'm coming to Madrigal for the Saturday show; please arrange for Ward to be put in the stocks. ;-) Also, we shall have a Trudy's night at some point; please come join us if you can. Maman, Birthanksmas: it's happening. I was pondering how to decorate for our created holiday and I was thinking possibly a cornucopia with confetti and a mistletoe. Just a thought. Dear friends whom I haven't listed: harass Ward. He will know when I'm in town and when I'm free. We'll do coffee or something at some point. There's a lot I want to do in my 2 weeks, but I will definitely be setting aside days for relaxing, resting, sleeping in... you know, the things I don't do over here. I'm just ridiculously excited about the whole thing! I didn't let myself think about it until I got my official dates, but now I can't stop thinking about it...

Well, I must run. I shall be home in a few weeks and will see and hug as many of you as is humanly possible. Please don't forget to send me a few "Koo" titles. Love you all!!
